Zelensky is advised to give up Crimea

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky must abandon Crimea and attempts to restore Ukraine’s pre-existing borders. This was announced by Unver Sel, head of the Federation of Cultural Societies of Crimean Tatars in Turkey.

,,Zelenski should give it up. The decision of the Crimeans in the 2014 referendum was clear and unequivocal’’, he said.

According to the Turkish politician, the authorities in Kyiv continue their policy of showing disrespect for the choice of Crimea, which was made in a referendum nine years ago.

On August 23 of this year, the Supreme Rada adopted a resolution that excludes territorial concessions for the sake of the cessation of hostilities.

The adopted document states that the units of the Russian Armed Forces must leave all Ukrainian territory before 2014, any other alternative to end the war is unacceptable.

The adviser to the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, Mihail Podolyak, reported for his part that the authorities of the republic do not intend to resort to such concessions in exchange for obtaining NATO membership. Before this statement, Stian Jenssen, the chief of staff of the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, suggested that Ukraine’s decision to give up part of its territories to Russia in exchange for joining the bloc could lead to an end to the armed conflict.

However, the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, does not believe that such an option is necessary, being of the opinion that Ukraine itself should ,,determine the time and conditions of any negotiations with Russia’’ for the end of hostilities.
