Armenia offers Azerbaijan new proposals for a peace agreement

According to the international news agencies, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Yerevan has submitted new proposals to Azerbaijan for the signing of a peace agreement between the two countries.

,,We are committed to the goal of ending tensions and have decided to send new possible solutions to the Azerbaijani side’’, he said.

On August 3, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused Pashinyan of worsening relations between Yerevan and Baku.

Earlier, Pashinyan said that Azerbaijan is not allowing about 361 tons of humanitarian aid to enter Nagorno-Karabakh and is thus illegally preventing progress through the Lacin Corridor, which is a link between the Armenian side and the Karabakh region.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev noted that Baku has no territorial claims against Armenia and expects a similar approach from Yerevan.

We remind that in May of this year, the two states agreed on the mutual recognition of the territorial integrity of the other.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan reached an agreement on several points of the peace treaty during consultations in the United States.

On May 22, Pashinyan said in a press conference that the 86,600 km2 of Azerbaijan's territory, which the Armenian authorities were willing to recognize, also includes the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, being of the opinion that it is the most good step for the regulation of relations between the two countries.
