The United States has warned North Korea of the consequences of cooperating with Russia

North Korea could face repercussions from the United States and other countries if it cooperates with Russia on arms sales. John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, warned Pyongyang about this, according to South Korean news agency Yonhap.

,,We don’t see them providing any assistance to the Russian military and we continue to urge North Korea to refrain’’, he said.

At the same time, Kirby noted that the United States is not currently actively engaged in dialogue with its key allies on the issue, as ,,no formal arms deal has been concluded between Moscow and Pyongyang’’.

,,However, we have information that the negotiations on the supply of weapons between the two countries have made serious progress. Russia wants raw materials from North Korea to support the Russian military-industrial complex, as well as a significant amount of military funds. Washington will impose sanctions against all individuals and entities involved in such transactions and stop all attempts by Moscow to obtain funds from other states’’, he added.

For his part, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken believes that such an agreement between Russia and North Korea has already been concluded.

,,We see that the Russians are desperately trying to get military support wherever it can be found. We notice that in both North Korea and Iran, which supplied Moscow with more than 600 drones in August this year’’, Blinken said.
