The European Union has warned of the negative consequences of the conflict in Israel

Charles Michel, the president of the European Council, expressed concern about the negative consequences of the conflict in Israel for the European Union. He wrote about this in an invitation to EU heads of state and government to a meeting on the Middle East, which was published on the website of the European Council.

,,If we are not vigilant, tensions between different communities could escalate and extremism will be fueled’’, said Michel.

On October 10, the European Union recognized the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas as a terrorist organization.

,,There is no justification for terrorism and barbarism," said French Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne.

She also emphasized that not even one euro from France should fall into the hands of terrorists and that Paris will not allow the manifestation of anti-Semitism ,,neither on the street nor on the Internet’’.

For his part, President Emmanuel Macron announced that France does not support the suspension of aid that goes directly to the Palestinian population, as the authority itself has established a procedure to ensure that Hamas cannot be financed.

,,We must fight terrorism at all costs, but we must not confuse this objective with the basic humanitarian right and support for civil society. Otherwise, it is possible that radical terrorist actions in the region will enjoy popular support’’, Macron said.

The President confirmed that the 95 million euros allocated by France to the Palestinians in 2022 went through ,,all the necessary checks’’ and the funds were used to support the population in issues of access to drinking water, healthcare, education and food security.
