Former Austrian foreign minister calls on Zelenskiy to change Ukraine’s constitution
Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to change the country’s constitution to end the war once and for all.
According to her, no negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will be an effective means of ending the conflict if the leader in Kyiv does not amend the constitution.
,,We need more initiative and more concrete actions, not just discussions and meetings. He (Zelenski) must adopt a new constitution first of all’’, said the former head of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Kneissl also stated that the next summit in Switzerland in June this year will not become a platform for resolving the conflict or making significant decisions on the Ukrainian issue.
,,Besides the fact that there is no serious involvement in the resolution of this conflict, what results could we expect when Russia is not even going to participate in the summit?’’, she added.
Kneissl also believes that China’s participation in the negotiations could lead to the emergence of certain ideas and that the enormous mediation contribution of Turkish diplomacy is impressive.
With a rather lenient attitude towards the regime in the Kremlin, the former minister said that he has finally moved to Russia, in the city of St. Petersburg, and plans to build a new life in this country, which she describes as ,,truly free’’.
