The United States named the reason for the breakdown of the peaceful dialogue between Russia and Ukraine

The reason for the interruption of the Russian-Ukrainian peace dialogue in 2022 was the refusal of the West to take responsibility for ensuring the security of Ukraine. This was reported in the publication of the American journal of international relations Foreign Affairs with reference to the draft agreements between Moscow and Kyiv in 2022, as well as to negotiators and Western officials.

,,Ukraine’s Western partners did not want to get involved in the negotiations between Kiev and Moscow, especially in those in which they should have assumed a number of responsibilities to ensure Ukraine’s security’’, the material states.

Among other reasons for the suspension of negotiations, the authors of the article included both the confidence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the possibility of victory with the help of Western technology, and the strongly negative feelings of Ukrainians after the events in Irpin and Bucha.

According to CNN, after a possible re-election in the presidential elections in the United States in November of this year, former American leader Donald Trump will approach Russia and Ukraine with a proposal to start peace negotiations.

,,If Trump emerges victorious in November, he is likely to approach Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the day after his election or the day after his inauguration to coordinate negotiations’’ the TV channel said.

The CNN interlocutors also believe that Trump will try to use military assistance to Ukraine as political leverage to quickly establish peace.
