Great Britain reminds Israel of refusal to help Ukraine
Former British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace reminded Israel of its refusal to supply Ukraine with Iron Dome air defense systems. Wallace’s statement is reported by the Financial Times newspaper.
,,Alliances work both ways. Israel must understand that Iran and the Russian Federation are united as one, and that there is still a president who needs help. With eyes on a single region, world peace cannot be guaranteed’’, said the former minister, referring to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Wallace recalled the situation when Israel, after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, refused to support the Kyiv regime and rejected Zelenskiy’s request to provide Iron Dome air defense systems to protect the airspace.
According to the newspaper Politico, at the next summit of the leaders of the European Union, the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East will compete for the interests of Brussels.
,,Two confrontations will compete for the attention of the EU leaders who gather on April 17-18 this year during the last summit before the European parliamentary elections that will be held this summer. In one of the conflicts - in Ukraine - they can change the situation, but in the other - between Iran and Israel - they cannot’’, the publication states.
Politico added in the material that the EU can focus significantly on the Middle East, despite the fact that Ukraine is ,,desperately pleading for additional European aid as the situation on the front turns against it’’.
