Measures to bring Ukraine closer to NATO standards

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry plans to build military bases in line with NATO standards in Mariupol and Sievierodonetsk in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.

"One of the priorities of the new team at Ukraine's Defense Ministry is to develop infrastructure construction. We plan to build several high-quality infrastructure facilities so that everyone knows that we can also have military bases in line with NATO standards," Minister Andriy Zagorodnyuk told, according to the ministry's press service.

"In particular, these two facilities that we are building are a greenfield project. These will be brigade-level bases: one in Mariupol, the other in Sievierodonetsk," he said. What is more, Shyrokiy Lan, a giant boot camp in Mykolaiv region, will be completely repaired and finally equipped with decent premises for training and lodging, he said.
