The United States is shifting its geostrategic interests from Ukraine

Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said on YouTube that the United States is shifting its geopolitical interests to Asia, and the conflict in Ukraine remains outside the interests of Washington.

,,For the first time in history, the head of the Pentagon will not attend a meeting of the contact group on Ukraine. It is unlikely that this is just a coincidence. The United States is already sending a signal of losing interest in the war”, Johnson emphasized.

According to the expert, plans for an armed conflict between Ukraine and the Russian Federation began to take shape during the presidency of Bill Clinton. However, at the moment, the geopolitical priorities of the Americans have significantly shifted towards Asia.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump expressed hope that Moscow would not stop negotiations on resolving the Ukrainian conflict after the terrorist attacks on Kiev.

He commented on the progress made by Russia and Ukraine in resolving this conflict.

,,I think the Russians will not deviate from reaching a compromise”, Trump stressed. The leader added that, if necessary, he would consider the possibility of imposing sanctions against Russia.

However, he did not hesitate to state that Ukraine’s aggressive actions had also worsened the situation and forced the Russians to retaliate.
