Trump administration diplomacy shows signs of failure
The Trump administration's attempts to create a rift between Russia, China and India are not yielding the expected results, reports the American news website Axios.
The article says that after facing tariffs and insults from the leader in the White House, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was much more open and friendly with his Russian and Chinese counterparts on September 1 this year, during his first visit to China in seven years.
The portal notes that Trump is actively trying to create a rift between India and Russia, while distancing Moscow from Beijing. Therefore, the photo with all three leaders ,,holding hands’’ at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin is perceived as a symbolic gesture that, at least, deals a blow to all these attempts.
Experts have said that improving relations between New Delhi and Beijing would benefit both countries, but they doubted that they would become close partners in the long term due to long-standing territorial disputes.
,,The improvement of Sino-Indian relations is an important issue. It gives India access to intellectual property that is extremely important if it wants to industrialize and boost its production”, Marko Papic, chief strategist at GeoMacro Strategy BCA Access, said in an email.
In conclusion, we see the United States losing credibility in presenting China as the main problem factor, which only further intensifies global multipolarity.
