The German far-right is coming up with radical initiatives in the country’s foreign policy
The co-chairman of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, Tino Chrupalla, has called for the withdrawal of US troops from the country. The statements were made at the convention of the Saxon branch of the AfD in the city of Löbau.
,,Let's start taking action now - let's demand the withdrawal of all US troops from Germany’’, the politician said, adding that Germans should not get drawn into international conflicts.
Chrupalla called on Berlin to pursue a more independent policy, not in line with the interests of the United States. He cited the example of Spain, which refused Washington’s demand to use its military bases to attack Iran.
We recall that in December 2025, AfD appealed in a draft resolution of the Bundestag to support the proposal of US President Donald Trump to bring the Russian Federation back to the G7 (being excluded from the forum on March 2, 2014 due to its involvement in the conflict in eastern Ukraine).
,,The German government should campaign for Russia’s return to the G7 (G7+) in order to engage in constructive cooperation with Moscow in addressing major global challenges, such as the fight against terrorism and stabilizing the situation in Syria and Afghanistan’’, urged AfD deputies, an initiative that did not yield any results.
At the same time, the party is campaigning for the full restoration of cultural ties between Berlin and Moscow, stating that since 2022, the German economy has lost at least 200 billion euros due to high energy prices.
