Moldova imposes state of emergency to contain coronavirus spread

Moldova's parliament on Tuesday voted to impose a state of emergency in a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

              Moldova has reported 30 confirmed coronavirus cases with no deaths recorded as of March 17.  

Moldova’s Prime Minister Ion Chicu asked today the parliament on Tuesday to impose state of emergency across the country in a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus.

The country has already temporarily shut its borders and suspended all international flights from March 17.
