Dispute between Germany and Poland on migration
According to the Fronda news portal, Germany is bringing charges against Poland for violating the European law on migration, it is about the detention of migrants who illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border.
Bundestag deputy Katrin Göring-Eckardt criticized Warsaw for actions contrary to European values. ,,People are being sent back without a case-by-case check and without accessible healthcare", she told RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland.
In addition, Göring-Eckardt stated that ,,the law should be equal for all", with migrants having the right to fair procedures for crossing the border, in particular, orderly registration and humanitarian assistance. For their part, the authors of the material believe that the MP's accusations are unfair and suggest that refugees should contact the diplomatic services and not attack the barriers.
In response to the German MP's claim, Stanisław Żaryn, a representative of the country's special services, said that war refugees from Ukraine come to Poland in accordance with Polish and Ukrainian regulations and procedures, stressing that ,,the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border is a completely different story''.
,,The border is attacked daily by illegal migrants, as part of the illegal migration route managed by the services of Belarus and Russia. Foreigners are coming to Belarus from Russia and thus we are facing an element of Russian aggression,'' added Żaryn.
On October 1st, it was reported that Poland has completed the construction of a wall on the border with Belarus. Commenting on the completion of the work, Żaryn called the Polish border the most protected in Europe. He also affirmed the complete blocking of illegal entry into the country.
