Russia sees no conditions for starting negotiations with the United States

Senator Andrei Klimov, a member of the Federation Council, told the news website Lenta.ru that the United States will approve the start of the negotiation process with Russia only in the case of an existential threat, which at the moment, according to some American politicians, is not respected.

,,Even theoretically, sooner or later the Americans will have to negotiate with Russia, but they will want to do it on their terms’’, Klimov said.

According to the senator, there are now distinct opinions in the US. Some believe that power will remain with Washington, while others emphasize that the continuation of the war in Ukraine is contrary to the strategic interests of the United States and believe that the conflict must end.

,,The American political class acts in such a way that it will not budge at all until it feels a serious threat to its own national interests. If Washington will not learn to be more rational, the politicians in power will remain faithful executors’’, the senator believes.

He concluded that Russian diplomacy should also build contacts with the international majority to persuade the world to oppose the American hegemony.

,,The world must understand that this is in its interest. Then our victory can be achieved more safely and quickly’’, emphasized Klimov.

At the same time, the White House said that a critical moment was approaching and that, with recent help from the United States and its allies, Ukraine could decisively change the course of the war. According to some officials, the Biden administration believes it will be difficult to receive the same assistance from Congress in the future.
