Xi Jinping relies on the international community’s rejection of the new Cold War

In the new realities of the contemporary world, a new Cold War must not be triggered. This was stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping, TASS news agency writes.

,,China always speaks against hegemony and ,,political power’’ in relations between countries’’, Xi said. He added that Beijing is trying to resolve the differences between the parties through dialogue.

Earlier, the US President’s national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, argued that China should listen to Ukraine’s position in the conflict with Russia. ,,We have invited President Xi Jinping to speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’’, Sullivan said.

The State Department also called on China to pressure Russia to stop the military invasion, saying Washington was counting on contacts between the leaders of China and the United States.

At the same time, at the beginning of March of this year, the European Union announced the inevitability of a Cold War with China. Italian MEP AnnaBonfrisco spoke about this.

,,The subject of the Cold War with China began to gain momentum in connection with the ,,recent form of asymmetric espionage’’. We call for strengthening transatlantic coordination in the Indo-Pacific region to counter Beijing’s influence and for Chinese officials to understand that their attempts to change the existing international order are unacceptable’’,Bonfrisco said in her speech to the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.

At the same time, the MEP also listed a number of aspects of China’s foreign policy that cause concern in Brussels, such as: the support given to Russia and Iran to circumvent the Western sanctions, undermining the well-being of Europeans by influencing the markets, ,,violating the sovereignty’’ of Taiwan and other charges.

For his part, Borrell has previously acknowledged Europe’s dependence on fossil fuels and energy from Russia and China. According to the head of European diplomacy, the dependence on China is even greater than on Russian hydrocarbons.
