The United States names its main enemies
The head of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, Mark Warner, named several states that are adversaries of the United States. He said this at a hearing on interference in the upcoming presidential election, broadcast by the television network C-SPAN.
Warner emphasized that Washington did not choose them on its own. ,,We are talking about states that under the laws of our country - and we are talking about China, the Russian Federation, Iran, North Korea and a number of others - are designated as foreign adversaries’’, the senator said.
A recent survey by YouGov, a British international market research and online data analysis firm, reveals that more than half of Americans view Russia and Iran as enemies of the United States (55% and 56% respectively). 4 and 2% of respondents said that Moscow and Tehran are friendly states, and only 1% named both Russia and Iran as America’s allies. 15% could not decide on Russia's attitude towards the United States, 20% did not answer the corresponding question about Iran.
At the same time, Moscow does not view its relationship with Washington in a more amicable manner. We remind you that on June 5 this year, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, directly called the United States an ,,enemy state’’ after former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter claimed that his passport was confiscated by officials from border when he wanted to reach and participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (June 5-8, 2024).
