For its part, Moscow congratulated Trump on taking office as head of state and is ready for dialogue with Washington.

,,We also heard his (Trump’s) statement about the need to do everything to prevent a Third World War. Of course, we welcome this attitude’’, Putin said.

The Russian president also stressed that he had also noticed Trump’s signals about how important it is for ties between Moscow and Washington to be restored, which is also welcome.

Earlier, CNN reported that the American leader had already instructed the new White House administration to organize a telephone conversation with Putin after taking office on January 20 this year. It is stated that the main topic of the conversation will be the organization of a possible meeting in which the possibility of an end to the war in Ukraine will be discussed.
