Kremlin wants to turn Ukraine into a controlled external chaos (Ukrainian expert / Yevhen Mahda)

The main theses of the analysis:
Kremlin does not have a pro-Russian candidate for the presidential seat in Ukraine (march-april), but it wants to transform the situation in Ukraine into externally controlled chaos, what will give Moscow the reasons to ask a foreign intervention in this country.
Moscow now treats the elections in Ukraine as an opportunity to destabilize the internal situation, to slow Ukraine's move towards the EU and NATO and, in favorable circumstances, to change Ukraine's growth vector.
Russia will try also to promote the idea that Ukraine is a failed state.
Moscow does not hide practically its interest to interference in the European Parliament elections in late May 2019.
For Russia it is strategically important to destabilize the pre-electoral and post-electoral situation in Ukraine; Ukraine's resistance to Russia can also be an example for other countries - Moldova, Belarus, the representatives of Central Europe and the Baltic States.
Ukraine (as well as Moldova) should not only defend the right to democratic elections but learn how to use the experience in counteracting Russian pressure in its own political interests. We need a pro-active position, aimed at increasing the state's authority on the continent.
